 Menorquina began as a family business. It was founded in 1940 on the Balearic island of Menorca. It was first called “Helados y Especialidades Menorquina” (Menorquina Ice Cream and Specialties).
After setting up in Mallorca in 1974, it began its rapid expansion, consolidated in 1983 when it merged with the Company Marisa in the region of Barcelona and built a modern factory in a town called Palau-solità i Plegamans, where our main offices and production sites are located to this day.
Menorquina is a clear success story with an impressive growth in the last two decades.
Thanks to this non-stop positive trend, it is today the 3rd biggest ice cream manufacturer (the first wholly owned Spanish Company)
and distributor of Spain with a market share close to 20 %, and it is also the biggest Spanish exporter of ice cream to independent companies all over the world, both manufacturers and distributors.
Menorquina has three factories, one in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, another one in Palma de Mallorca and the third one and biggest in Palau-solità i Plegamans, near Barcelona.
