GKM, industrial company whose main activity is the production of ice creams, yoghourts and desserts, wishes to contribute to minimizing its environmental impact, as a consequence of its activity.
In the fulfilment of this commitment, GKM ’s Management, in the Menorquina and Kalise plant intensify the effort made until now, providing the necessary resources for the implantation, development, and update of an Environmental Management System in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 14001 Standard, in such a way that the following action criteria have been established:
Continuous adaptation to the applicable normative. Compliance with all norms and legal requirements concerning environment as well as the corporate environmental objectives of the group.
Prevention and minimization of pollution. Application of the basic principle of pollution prevention as an essential element of the management in all its aspects, making use of the best available techniques, when it is economically feasible. Make a continuous effort to identify, evaluate and improve the environmental impact derived from our activities, facilities, processes and services and to aim to minimize it.
Rational use of resources. Orientate the environmental management in the production plant toward the rational use of the natural resources, like water, and energies (electricity and gas).
Promote recycling. Apply the necessary techniques for residue separation to facilitate recycling.
Collaboration with customers. Provide our customers with the appropriate environmental information concerning handling, transportation, storage, and disposal of supplied products.
Environmental training. Promote training, sensitivity and environmental awareness of all the personnel implicated in the environmental management of the company.
Continuous improvement. Strive for continuous environmental improvement, through systematic and periodic evaluation of the environmental management system.
Collaboration with the Authorities. Maintain an open relationship and collaboration with Administration, institutions and/or associations.
Diffusion and communication of our environmental commitments. Inform our suppliers and contractors of the applicable requirements and request from them the information about their environmental management.
